I won’t let myself live in regret.
Daily Prompt’s Question of the day is…
“Write about a time when you didn’t take action but wish you had. What would you do differently?”
Every action or lack thereof always creates its own outcome. But thinking ‘what if ‘ I had told her sooner that I loved her, maybe she would’ve chosen me is a sad way to live life.

If I had, I wouldn’t have returned to writing, as it has been a catalyst for my healing journey. Which by the way, is going rather well.
It is here I remember an old quote spoken by former speaker of the house, John Boehner. “If if’s and ands and buts were candy and nuts, everyday would-be Christmas,” he said.
The phrase dates back to the 17th Century and I simply refuse to live in the past.
As sad as that loss may be, I’d rather focus on the outcome of not having told her, as my return to the keyboard has drawn the attention of someone far more special.
Someone missing from my life for more than four decades. So, you tell me, ‘What would you do differently?’

You never know when ‘your’ tumblers click but ‘build it and they will come’ and I have, without looking back.
