What relationships have a positive impact on you?
First, I’m not the type that seeks part-time friendships out. I want friends that stick around. And I’ve got a great many of those. But the ones that have had a positive impact on me are generally the type that aren’t there forever.
One such friend is the cause for my return to writing. I used her ghosting as a catalyst and that has been pushing me ever since.
There are others I’m close to. Like a former war crimes prosecutor whom I learned that my troubles were small in comparison. And that the little things are what really matter. This in itself would’ve never happened hadn’t it been for the first one departing.
Rekindling old friendships that weren’t really lost is wonderful too. The communication just dissipated over time. It is one of the best positive impacts that has occurred. In those friendships, I’ve learned more of myself than ever before.
I’ve experienced it all in various forms of relationships. This includes everything from heartbreak to passion, drive to empathy, and being humbled to love. You just have to keep your eyes, emotions and heart open because positivism is there to be found.
