One of the easier questions by Daily Prompt
I believe most of you consider appearance as the biggest first impression. But it can always be so misleading. Some of the nicest and caring people I’ve met wore ragged jeans. They also wore torn t-shirts the first time we’ve crossed paths. For me it goes deeper than clothing, being shaven or unshaven or wearing a nice dress or matching outfit. It goes to personality.
I try to come across as who I am. And who I am is what I look for in people as well. I won’t tell you what I do for ‘first impressions.’ Instead, I’ll tell you what I look for, as all are in me.

Sincerity is foremost, as being the opposite is just a game. If I friend someone I look for lifetime commitment. Too many people come and go so express your intentions upfront. Then you know how much time to invest in them.
Honesty. Don’t pretend to be something you’re not. I have some really good friends that are married and single. Both of which I’d do anything for. Don’t pretend to be one of the other if you’re not, it simply attracts problems.
Empathy. The world needs more of it. Be there for someone when they’re down, sick or need a hand. And no, this does not fall under expectations. It’s call humanity. Be kind to those that care for you.
Communication. Without communicating to one another what good is a friendship? Sharing stories is fun but so is listening. Understanding one another is paramount. Don’t run from the hard talks, embrace them. They’re the ones that make you a better human.
That’s pretty much how I come across in real life and definitely what to portray as who I am. Because ‘I Am Me,’ and this is ‘Who I Am.’
