Is What They Suggested
February 26, 2024
The GoDaddy Site gives daily suggestions about social posts, not full out blog suggestions rather more of an update like a Facebook Status. Today I’ve decided to take their advice, it was to make an ‘Audience Post.’ But I’ll blog about it instead in kind of a ‘Monday Mussing’ section with all types of crazy stuff.
Valentine’s Day
Has quickly became my least favorite holiday. One year since Marie from Vanquisher 2011, vanquished me. Won’t lie, that still hurts. Always will wish her the best and have realized she’ll be a part of me for life.
Sticking with the lost friendship topic, I was sad to let go of a ten plus year relationship with another, this time at my hands. Or stroke of the mouse to be exact. Same day, a year later, I let Mary Jane Fuller from Olympus Has Faller. 2013, go. I needed peace, stability and trust. It wasn’t there any longer. The worse part was the timing, Valentine’s Day itself, but I had taken that into consideration for days prior. Probably like aforementioned Marie did with me. Love Hurts. There’s the two-word sentence I’ve been neglecting as of late.
One’s feelings weren’t the same as mine, or if they were, they were too late. The other wasn’t there as often as she wanted me there. I told the later, before I ended it, “One I loved as a friend the other I was in love with, regardless of how misguided that love was. You’re trying everything to escape, what she wanted was the love of someone else. So, feel free to run, I fought too hard for the one I was in love with and suffered because of it, to fight for someone whose feelings don’t include a friendship.”
Sad, sure. But you know what? If you don’t do what’s best for you, no one else can. Friendship is give and take, if you can’t equal my time or at least meet a bare minimum or decency of a single ‘Get Well Soon’ wish, I’ve got no use for you. And yes, there should be an expectation of kindness, so don’t use ‘expectation’ as an excuse or a boundary. Inexcusable. Kindness knows no boundaries.

Friends
How many of us have them? Well, well I knew she was there; she has been for over fifteen years now. I’ll leave the secret of how we met just that, a secret. But one showed her true colors last night with an out of the blue text. A prescription of kindness anyone of my four doctors would have written. I know they all read these on occasion, so here’s a big shoutout to four of the finest doctors on the planet. See you all in April.

Back to last night’s surprise text message. It was so good to hear from you Diane. It had been too long and really did bring some warmth to my heart hearing from you. But we don’t need to limit it to just Sunday’s.

Diane and I had been texting one another every Sunday night since ‘The Walking Dead’ had first aired in 2010 and been friends even longer. With the original show ending a couple seasons back we just hadn’t been connecting oi a regular basis. Last night, with Rick and Michonne’s return, she reached out and after last year’s personal setbacks it really felt good to have some normalcy reenter my life and the well wishes she offered. Thank you, DP, love you forever!
Primary Election
Not sure where you live, but I’m in Michigan and tomorrow (Tuesday 3/27) is primary election day here. I’ve already voted absentee weeks ago and it shouldn’t be a shocker to learn I support Joe Biden. And to all my Republican friends don’t go getting into hate mode as up to Obama’s run, I had voted straight GOP. Why the change back then? Because I needed health insurance congestive heart failure. Fought tooth and nail, thirty-seven months, for it. Seriously, something was wrong with that and needed change.
A mini message to all my Palestinian and Muslim friends and even family, I implore you to set your conflicts with the Biden Administration’s policies towards Isarael – Hamas and Gaza aside for the day. Sure, it’s only a primary election but the way things get twisted in the news it could grow bigger and the last thing we need is 45 gaining more talking points come November.
Me political, Ha!
Inked Cover Contest
Many of you know I’ve got a friend running for the cover of ‘Inked Magazine’ and she could use your support moving onto the next round.

Yes, Melissa is former military, and could use your support too and to top it all off, she’s a Midwesterner! Plus, your first vote is free, Here’s the link.

Spring/Summer Plans
Figured I have seen plenty of Indy Car Races in Detroit, so Boston here I come. Tigers are making their only trip to Beantown May 30 – June 2 for a four-game set against the Red Sox and plans are in the works to return ‘HOME.’ I absolutely love Boston.

Going to stick with baseball once again over the 4th of July and head to Minneapolis to catch our same Tigers take on the Minnesota Twins from July 2-4. Midori and Neil get ready, I’m looking forward to this one.
Finally
I don’t know who was happier the other day, me or Grogu.

I’m betting I’m happier, he just gets to be a prop. I’m the one eating them. Thanks for stopping in for a bit…I have a couple more ‘Meet Me’s’ in the works hopefully soon! Until then, enjoy your 29-day February!
