Meet its Owner, Rose
Original Post February 1, 2024
I draw a lot of attention out of California, especially the Los Angeles area, so when I saw that ‘Best Singing Telegrams’ had begun following me a while back on Instagram, I thought nothing of it other than checking for the obvious as to the account being real and made a mental note to follow up after my upcoming doctors’ appointments.
About a week ago, I did just that, as I thought with ‘ Valentine’s Day’ approaching this would make a good story. And this is where it began.
Meet: Best Singing Telegrams and its owner, Rose

Rose tells me she performed in the hit stage musical ‘Grease’ on Broadway and eventually moved to the west coast and settled in Los Angeles. After some thoughtful deliberation, she decided to bring Broadway to the area in a fun manner. Now six plus years into her venture, ‘Best Singing Telegrams’ is a resounding hit of its own, so much so, they have expanded into the San Diego market too.

With over 50 characters in tote, Rose says, “Some of our most popular characters are Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Austin Powers and Stevie Wonder.” She was quick to add the recent addition of ‘Barbie,’ from ‘Barbie the Movie,’ has gone over well, too. And if that’s not exciting enough, imagine being serenaded by a duo or even trio of characters. Another recent addition was the duo of ‘Goofy and Creed.’ Which she says went over really well. “We love taking on unique requests,” says the owner.
Themed Musicals:
When I initially checked out Best Singing Telegrams website, (I’ll leave a link at the end of this story) I was thrilled to see they offer twenty minute to hour long shows as well as singing telegrams. And you know me, I’m all about ‘Star Wars.’ So, when I saw this clip on their site (tap photo for video), I knew it had to be included.

The musicals began during the pandemic with some repeat clients who were looking outside the box. Literally, outside while keeping within social distancing protocols, Rose said they were “huge hits,” and continued, “The shows have stuck, and now more clients love the idea of bringing the entertainment right to the home of their friends and family.”
Valentines Day:
With ‘Valentines Day’ right around the corner, February 14, my personal thoughts were this would make a lot better gift, or a fine addition, than the customary gifts one gives. Imagine having a singing telegram showing up at your loved one’s doorstep singing a favorite tune. Truly unforgettable and the memories, most assuredly, would outlive the ‘Roses.’
“Valentine’s Day is indeed our biggest single day of bookings throughout the entire year,” Rose begins. And says, last year her business had booked 27 singing telegrams in and around the Los Angeles area, for that day alone. She expects this year’s day of love to be “very busy as well.” Some of the popular choices have been, in the past years, Stevie Wonder singing ‘I just called to say I love you’ – parodied to “he/she,” Marilyn Monroe and Frank Sinatra are always big hits, too, on Valentine’s Day, she added.
Along with the singing serenades, Best Singing Telegrams, ‘Valentines Special,’ includes a box of chocolates, personalized card message and photos with the recipient.

I don’t know about you, but if my special someone sent me a Princess Leia or Harley Quinn singing a love song, I’d be grinning from ear to ear for the next year. But perhaps your love would prefer Sonny and Cher or Bruno Mars. Whatever the case, Best Singing Telegrams has a lot to offer and makes the perfect gift for any occasion.
