Radiation Therapy

December 16, 2023|

Friday

Did you know cancer sucks? If you didn’t, well it does! With Tuesday and Thursday doses of radiation this past week my ass and pecker are both sore. So sore I’ve come to learn why ‘Godzilla’ is always so cranky. Imagine having to have your body dispose of radiation. Easiest two out of your system and it burns both ways. His Japanese creators, probably not wanting him to poop or pee on screen, had him spit it out and then it turns to flames. Dudes got to have a sore throat after breathing it in for three quarters of a century and blowing it back out is pissed. Hell yeah, I’d stomp on humanity too after waking up to a mess created by them.

Godzilla, not quite a lookalike, has become my ornament to myself. He’ll flashback memories in a subtle manner that no matter how bad it is, it can’t get much worse that ’23 has been.

How bad is it, you ask. Well got home Thursday about 12:30 PM by 2:00 was in and out of the bathroom ten times, with only a trinkle and burning worse each time. Trust me, the pain on the other side is as equally bad!

Shopping

While I was out grocery shopping, of all places, Walmart I came across an ornament that reminded me of you Teri Hart. Afterall, you’re the one that got me hooked on the show.

I love the scene below! For you Hart 💗❣️ Happy Holidays!

While we’re looking forward to Christmas in a week, I’d like you to read this post I came across on Instagram from Quentin Quarantino (@quentin.quarantino) It holds so much truth and offers empathy to those in need.

Last night I rented ‘Taylor Swift’s, Eras Tour.’ The woman is good, no doubt about it. She put on a marvelous three-hour show, which I actually finished this morning.

I love her music, as it seems to be the story of my life in lyrics and tunes. Hitting home with every note she sings; the show was definitely worth the twenty bucks! I highly recommend it!

Saturday

The pain is still present when using the bathroom. OMG I’ll be so happy when this is over! And last night’s sleep was horrible as I woke twice for the restroom and hard a rough time falling back to sleep after each time. Quit counting how many times I’ve gone today as I’ve learned to just grin and bear it. Not looking forward to Monday’s Round 4 but keeping the faith that it doesn’t get worse. Even thinking about it curls my stomach.

A couple of the coolest ornaments I got were selected by friends Jennifer and Gaby. They both featured ‘Snoopy and Woodstock.’ Needless to say, when this, just as cool, hat popped up in  BoxLunch (@boxlunchgifts) • Instagram‘s feed, I had to have it. You know me and hats. Plus, it’s good to have friends along for such a daunting journey when facing a challenge like cancer. Thank you both for your continued support.

And a special thanks to all you readers that have been keeping up with me and this cancer fight. I know the whole theme is offbeat, but even thru all its uncertainties, I can’t take like so serious as to be down and not look at a brighter side. A long time ago a dear friend used the hashtag #whynotsmile and I’ve kind of attached that to my struggles this year as a sign of hope. Remembering as long as there is ‘hope,’ there’s still a chance and that maybe all anyone has left. So, show some empathy.

     Until Monday…that’s all there is!
