June 18, 2023

Like always, when this time of year comes around, I like treating myself to things that I enjoy and normally wouldn’t afford myself to. This year has become no different.

There are a variety of things in life that I enjoy but have shied away from for one reason or another. But was given a new lease on life and its joys by some that are, or were, close to me and I said to myself, “You know, Rick, why not make life more enjoyable.”  And I have.

That began last year, during a second trip to Boston, with my original intentions of seeing a hockey game between the Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins and nothing more. I had dubbed the trip my Birthday Month Part Deuce, as my first trip in June I had such a blast at Fenway Park, I had to return.

Shortly after, I obtained the ticket to the game, Stub Hub, later, notified me that it was no longer obtainable and gave me my choice of seats (I chose club level, center ice) and a credit. With that credit I ordered a theater seat at Citizens Bank Opera House to watch ‘Hairspray the Musical.’ The show was awesome! A must see if you’re give the opportunity.

     Back to the present

If you’ve been keeping up with my blog, you’re aware of my blog, Meet Raina Weilenman: The Artiste. If not, be sure to read it, as it is a fun article and was pure joy to write. Raina is a marvelous painter, an equally marvelous friend, and with Birthday Month upon me I couldn’t resist. I had won a piece of her work ‘La Mer,’ that is simply amazing, earlier this year. Therefore, it was not only time to patronize her shop, but time to add a piece of joy to mine.

Raina had suggested I checkout the site society6.com which carries the particular piece of her artwork I was interested in. And that I did.

LA BALLERINE
LA BALLERINE

Le Ballerine will now dawn my walls upon its arrival.

And I’ll be drinking my morning coffee from its matching mug.

There are other events and plans I have coming up, but because of timing and scheduling will come later in August.

However, by no means, shall I stop celebrating now. As more opportunities arise in and around my area, rest assured I’ll be there having The Time of My Life.
