Baseball

April 10, 2023

This definitely falls into the ‘feeling weird about writing category’. But here goes…

Meet my son Nicholas (AKA Nick) and not my ex, nor a surrogate, yet his mother Brenda. If you know me well enough, you know the story. If you don’t, maybe the Paul Harvey in me will one day tell you “The rest of the story.”

He’s Long Beach City College’s Public Address Announcer for the school’s baseball team. Think Bob Uecker might agree “Just A Bit Proud” instead of ‘outside’.

Nick texted me yesterday with Easter Greetings (Boy never misses a holiday) and mentioned they were going to the Los Angeles Angels Baseball Game. (Will always be the California Angels to me and probably you too)

You know me. He said baseball, I said pictures. And not ones from where you have to be Paul Bunyan to see. (Need to learn keypad shortcuts for emoji’s) Inside humor. Maybe not. Last pics were from the upper deck in the outfield and hard to see. I’m a field level guy myself. Unless it starts getting too hot, then go sneaking into the covered area. But I get it. At his age I was one of those ‘Bleacher Creatures’ at old Tiger Stadium.

Brenda, seriously though, you’ve done a wonderful job raising one that so aptly acts like my twin! Must’ve been a handful! Thank you.

     Here’s a few I hope you enjoy!

Final: Blue Jays 12 – Angels 11 (insert emoji of your choice)
