Daily Prompt’s QOTD:

This is Special

I don’t have any special dishes for the holidays. Not even for deserts. as I buy frozen.

But what I do have for the holidays are special friends. And since starting this second battle with cancer one has shined so bright I thought I’d incorporate her into this Daily Prompt. After all, it is Thanksgiving and I’m very ‘thankful‘ for her.

From the Pacific Northwest portion of the States, Michelle and I haven’t known one another too long, six or seven months perhaps. But she’s always been there on Instagram watching and liking my stories and posts. Especially those about cancer and Disney.

About a week or so ago she offered to choose an ornament for my tree. I felt comfortable enough to send her my address. Sometimes you just know people are good and she’s one of them.

A few days later a package arrived on my porch. Tucked away neatly was the most inspiring handwritten card I’ve ever read.

It had been a long while since I’ve shed tears over something happy, but here they were flowing from my eyes. I have been struggling lately with cancer’s return and wondering if writing anymore was even worth it.

However, Michelle’s words touched me. And touched me deeply. I felt needed. Needed in a way because it seems no one else is uplifting anyone on social media. While here I am being credited in making a difference to someone. That’s powerful, I can’t quit now.

Michelle included a mouse for my house, and he found the perfect spot to reside in my tree.

And if you know the story behind my ‘ROCK’ you’ll understand why this location is perfect for another mouse found in that box.

Michelle, I want to say, ‘Thank You.’ Your kind words and friendship have changed me for the better this holiday season. And no matter what life throws at me I’ll always be here as your friend. Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas to you and yours❣️
