One of the strategies I use to help my well-being has been traveling. And with a new PSA test coming due on the first of August to see if further cancer treatment will be needed.

The thought of the disease’s possible return, or its not entirely demised status in my body, is troublesome. It’s tiring thinking about it and I needed a bit of relaxation.

With the suggestion of a friend, I decided to make the trek North for a get-a-way. Born and raised here in Michigan, I had visited Mackinaw City a few times. But I had never ferried over to Mackinac Island, and this is where I went.

I hope you enjoy the photos!

Here I decided to leave our horse driven carriage and stroll Fort Mackinac.

By the end of the day, I was worn out and as two complete strangers sat together on the return voyage, they made the best of it laughing and giggling while the cool breeze flew through their hair. It was a hot day, perhaps low nineties and quite humid. We both needed the smiles.

The island is huge with a lot of sights to see. These are just a few of them and I do plan to make a return trip after oncologist decides where my cancer is headed. Hopefully my worries of its return are just that. A worry and nothing more and this were nothing but a bounce.

Thanks for stopping in and enjoying a short portion of my summer. More is definitely on the way!
