Daily Prompt’s QOTD

It’s never a SACRIFICE to be grateful and promote the good others have done. That’s why I’m taking Daily Prompt’s Question of the Day ‘What sacrifices have you made in life?’ and turning it into a gratitude post for those that have given me encouragement over the last couple days.

Rick Ollie

For those that haven’t been following along, my urologist gave me a PET Scan order this week, as there are questions on whether or not my cancer has returned. He did so after my PSA levels have increased to pre-radiation therapy highs.

“Rick, I’m sorry to hear that your levels went up. Please don’t let it affect you. I know it is concerning but you have to have the mindset that this will pass too. You should however do everything that your doctors ask you to do to the best of your abilities. I strongly believe that our attitude in fighting this makes a difference in our results. Keep strong and you will be OK”. – Soyon

Soyon, this is the reason we became friends. Cancer united us and together we can concur anything. Thank you for the kind words and advice.

“Love you, Rick! You got this.” – Tracy

Tracy, we’re two peas from different pods that somehow got mixed together and found love in one another out of kindness and respect. If only the world worked like us. For that, I give you my deepest and sincerest thank you for always being nearby. Love you, too, my friend!

“I’m sorry to hear that the numbers doubled instead of lowered. I 🙏that the situation improves and levels lower. Keeping you in my thoughts & prayers!” – Jen

Of all the people I’ve met on social media, Jen, you rank at the top. You’ve been encouraging, insightful, a teacher and a joy to read. Thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers but most importantlt, your friendship!

At Your Best:
Aaliyah

“Oh no, I’m so sorry to hear this, Rick. I hope you hear something soon. Because yeah, that just sucks.” – Lauren

Yes, Lauren it just sucks! But having you as a friend is exciting. Never a dull moment in the life of a historian. You actually brighten my days, thank you so much for caring and sticking around this Disney fanatic!

“You’ve got this friend ❤️” – Michelle

Michelle, you’re one of a kind and my type of people. Open, honest and sincere goes a long way with me and you’re all three. Thank you for the good vibes!

“You got this!!! Adding you to my prayers!” – Abbey

Coming from you, Abbey, I have faith. Learning of your strong religious and family beliefs I’m honored to be your friend. Thank you for all your support!

“Sending positive thoughts!” – Lucy

Lucy you’re truly special. Absolutely love the reason you’re here! And now you’re not going to let cancer bully me, just as you fight the internet against bullying children! Thank you, my friend!

“🙏🙏🙏’ – Traci

Is it wrong to say I want to go visit a treehouse with you, Traci? Because if it is, I still want to go. A treehouse is more than what connects us. It’s our empathy for humankind, it’s our authenticity, it’s our love for the world to be better. Let’s keep making it that way together. Thank you for being you!

“You got this, I pray for you 🙏🫶💖” – Liz

Anyone that sends me a photo of Godzilla in Japan will always have my heart! And you did just that. Liz, you’ve become like glue, and I’m stuck on you. Thank you for being in my life. Your prayers and kindness will remain within me forever.

“Sending prayers, love and strength ❤️” – Alexandria

You know how I feel, Alexandria. All I can say is thank you and I’m glad we’re fighting our battles, although a bit different, together! Tough times never last. Tough people do!

“🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽” – Andriz

Thank you, Andriz! Hope we can become friends. As friendship makes the world a better place.

“❤️❤️❤️” – Angelina

Thank you, Angelina. It’s wonderful having you in the fight with me!

” Keep positive. You will be fine.” – Linda

Yes, I will be fine, Linda and I’ll keep that positivity in tote with me everywhere I go like I have our friendship and love since I we were mere youngsters. Thank you for being there through all our ‘decades.’ 😂 Love you, woman!!!

“Don’t worry much you’ll be fine. Love you.” – Loren

Loren, your support has always been unwavering. Whether it’s been my writing or my health, you’ve been there. Very few have done that. Thank you, a bushel and a peck, with a hug around the neck.

“Oh no, so sorry, Rick! You got this! Rest up, sending you positive thoughts and healing vibes! ❤️” – Midori

Our story is more plausible than not, Midori. Yet, it still surprises me. Think of you, Neil and the kids more like family than most of my real ones. Proof it’s not always born of blood but of caring and love. Thank you so much for your kind words!

“Praying for good results 🙏” – Kristyn

Kristyn, over the years you’ve become like a sister to me. A guide, a friend, an unknown mentor and most of all someone I hope will be here forever and ever! You make this world a far better place, never forget that and thank you very much!!!

“I’m sorry you’re going through this. We are on our journey with this.” – Dr Caroline

Oh my, Caroline! It is so good having you with me going through this. You’ve got a way that touches my heart and warms my soul that makes me feel like a superhero on a mission. Unbeatable! Thank you, my friend!

“Oh no! Please keep me updated! Praying it’s just a scary and this is all precautionary!! 🙏 hugs and love!!!” – Tara

Tara, I trust and love you more than anyone on this planet and it would take an act of God to change that. But I believe HE gave us each other just for that reason, as everyone needs someone and we have one another. Thank you for your generous words and the love you share.

And to the fifty or so well wishes over my other social sites, I want to say thank you as well and know that you’ve all been read.
