‘What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.’

Do you believe in synchronicities? If you do, you’ll love the timing of today’s Daily Prompt Question. Me, I take them for what they’re worth. But low and behold, soon as I signed into Instagram, the first story that appeared was from friend Nadege August. On forgiving. Not a direct question but definitely tied in here with them.

The question I am most asked has changed over the past couple of years. It has swayed away from my health issues to the more obvious one. I’ve learned to detest this question. “Why am I so forgiving?”

Instead of being puzzled, I just snickered as I’ve become use to it.

Why am I so forgiving? Because it’s part of me. Sure, there are times when I wish I weren’t. But you know what? People make mistakes. I make mistakes and accept that and seek forgiveness myself. Others are no different and should be afforded the same courtesy.

We are all still young and it doesn’t necessarily mean in age. It can be our growing experiences. Situations change and some people don’t grow as quickly or do the wrong things out of fear. There are a lot of reasons we make mistakes.

So, to those that continue to ask why I forgive so freely. it’s because ‘I Am Me.’ It’s who I am. And I like who I am. And don’t worry, someday you might be asking me for forgiveness, and I will afford it to you as well. After all, that’s what you’d want, isn’t it?
