Heidi Harris

January 5, 2024

Originally covering sports as a reporter in college, I switched to politics. Why? Because it was the only damn gig hiring at the time. I actually hate politics. Greed is what it’s about. Broken promises and lost friendships are commonplace.

After hundreds of interviews and articles, I walked away from it. Years later, I tried tweeting about it, had roughly 15,000 followers on now what’s called ‘X,’ (wow it’s turned into a shitshow of a site since Elon bought it) but even that got old.

Tiring from a life in a line in the likes of the play ‘The Tempest,’ written by William Shakespeare, and as Americans equate todays politics, “Misery acquaints a man with strange bedfellows,” I swam away to better sleeping grounds as I couldn’t stand the monsters breath any longer. (In the play, a man is shipwrecked and finds himself seeking shelter next to a sleeping monster)

If you’ve been following me since my beginnings here, last March, you know I started this website as a means of healing, physically and mentally.  I had no intention of writing about politics, nor anywhere else for that matter and I’ll try and keep that promise to myself. But when I woke this morning, an old friend came to mind as I wondered how her, and her husband were doing as I hadn’t spoken or messaged her since my colon surgery in October of 2021.

What a wonderful addition her story would make to the ‘Meet Me’ platform, I later thought. So rather than just ask her directly, I decided to call her out for that very opportunity.

Risky? Hell yeah. But worth it? Damn straight.

Heidi Harris

I believe it was 2015-16 when I first crossed paths with Heidi Harris as she was doing the TV pundits circuit on the likes of MSNBC, CNN and most likely FOX, too. The later I’m not sure, as I’m not a viewer of their network and not much of the other two lately either.

I already had her first book, so when her second was released in March of 2018, she sent me a ‘First Run’ copy of it and a short greeting of thanks she penned for supporting her.

Mind you, we’re at opposite ends of the political spectrum and our first messages hinged around me saying to her, ‘Not too shabby for a conservative,’ or something close in nature. She’s one of the best in the business when it comes to radio talk show hosts, and I’m a bit surprised she never received, or if she had, taken a television gig.

     Enough Said:

How about it, Heidi? If you haven’t seen my blog, check it out. No politics. We can talk radio, relationships, what you’re up to, future plans and our first meeting online. We can Zoom or I’ll send you maybe 7 or 8 questions and you can kick them back when you’re finished. No teasing, just heart to heart talk. And as in all my interviews, you can promote your show times, website, social links and podcast scheduling.

     Let’s do this Vegas!
