You’re Worth A Lot To Me

This was written yesterday, 11/30/23.

     Been some time since I just rambled on about what’s happening in my life and the gazillion thoughts buzzing through my mind, excuse any incoherency or improperly phrased, half broken up sentences as I quit drinking many, many years ago and my words tend to slur now… 🤔😖

     I don’t even know where to start. Didn’t make the Chattanooga trip for the Fashion Expo held by friend Shanna. Mixed bag of emotions here, as I would’ve loved to have attended and written about the event. But will no longer take my feelings for granted and even after reviewing her photos of the event there was someone, I would have liked meeting because of his acting work. However, he’s also a of friend of Casey and I’m even more glad I didn’t attend; as I wasn’t emotionally ready for more setbacks because of the broken hearted, lost friendship, not caused by the heart disease I’ve had for years; due to continued healing.

     Shanna, I don’t think I went too far in taking the ‘Grinches ‘Stop’ advice, but I should have discussed it with you beforehand. We both make mistakes, and we can either face them or hide from them. I was a bit rough on you for what happened, and I apologize for that. Let’s just move forward and not let my healing process define our relationship. Your ‘Shannaigans’ have been a huge part of my life for far too long to let this get in our way. Don’t delete me off that ‘Christmas Card’ list just yet! 😁 But I should’ve ‘stopped’ and seen where Grinch was being sent from. China was a Hella journey! 🎄 Our friendship goes further! Thank You for your pick! 

     And speaking of Christmas Cards, hey Caroline, here’s your reminder. Anyone else, close to me, that wants to send me a card hit me up and I’ll DM you my address, if you don’t already have it. Real is so much better than virtual. The world has gone too far getting away from old fashion beliefs. Send someone a real card!

     Back to ‘your ornaments,’ as there were more to come in. I had so much fun with this one chosen by Xuan. It brought memories of her Halloween post on Instagram, where she cast a ‘love spell.’

     I immediately shifted to my theatrics mode (everyone knows I’ve got to have fun) and asked Xuan if that ‘spell’ were cast at me after the ‘Black Cat’ was delivered. 

     ‘Catwoman’ replied, “Hahaha, Rick. You are being charming!”  Xuan, touché, you’re good and I’d like to say ‘Thank You’ for the lovely selection that’ll add joy to my cancer treatment sessions this Holiday Season! 

     I, also, added an ornament on behalf of Casey Dacanay as she was here a small portion of the year, or ‘potion’ if you prefer and its placement here is only fitting. 

     She has a thing for ‘Scarlet Witch,’ and ‘Hocus Pocus.’ I couldn’t resist knowing she loves this song too. I know you’re reading this, just wanted to say Thank You for the memories in my own way. 

     Another ornament that arrived late, was one picked from longtime friend Diane. Churchgoer picked a colorful butterfly and added a bit of brightness to my life on the tree. Thank you. Diane. Hope we make it another twenty years!

    Want to give a shoutout to my friend, Michelle Gottesman. I know you’re super busy and haven’t had much time to yourself let alone me. But I came across this cool ornament that reminds me of you. And you know me, I do the crazies and snagged it in your honor. 😂🤣

      You ever think I’m going to forget PJ Masks? Or this photo, below? 

     Girl, you’re the only lawyer I’ve had a crush on (yes, I confess in here too) and have liked from day one! Hope you’re healing well from the accident and remember some crazy, former, client will, always, have you in his prayers.

When you see this, and know when your next trip downtown is, let’s do lunch. You can explain how you knew who this formidable threesome is, as I had no clue when I took the photo. Get well soon, hugs and love my friend. UPDATE: Nice waking to a message from you this morning…Wishing you the best in physical therapy 🤗

     Last thought of the day goes to Marlee and her mother Tara. My bestie and her daughter, if you recall, kicked off the whole ornament idea of mine after I asked them to pick two just to cheer me up. They did and it touched me so much, I expanded. After being featured in my last ornament blog, Marlee wanted to send me a ‘thank you.’ With mom by her side, they recorded the ‘Sweetest Thank You EVER’ citing my kindness for mentioning them. 

     Marlee, I’ve gone beyond that now. This ‘THANK YOU’ is for you and you mom for always making me smile! Especially when I see those TikTok videos! 😊😊

     The days over now and still no word on the start of treatment. Seriously, cannot wait for it to begin! Maybe tomorrow, actually today because now I’m going to wait to publish this until morning.
