It Ain’t Over till the Fat Lady Sings

     Going into today I had hoped that ‘The Fat Lady’ was singing her song already. She’s had me waiting over a month, as I recall, to have sharpened her notes. Apparently, she’s sick too! 

     Damn her and that old adage, “It ain’t over till The Fat Lady Sings”! That’s enough fixation on her and folks that wonder why, I over-think. It’s better knowing what’s ahead than riding over a cliff. This one caught me by surprise. Totally off-guard. Hadn’t thought a move ahead of my last. My mind was elsewhere. My game has slipped.

     It’s been a long month and I’ve become indifferent to it all. It’s caused no anxieties. It’s gotten routine. Kinda like SpaceX landing a rocket on a barge in the middle of the ocean, with the odds still in my favor.

     Those emotions have been focused on someone who’s not here and might not read this. If you do, here’s a subtle reminder for you. I’m always here. 

     Had most recent, post surgeries/procedures, follow-up with my cardiologist, electrophysiologist, surgeon today. Results weren’t as grand as I had hoped. I’ll be heading back to the hospital on Friday. This time for a cardioversion. Seems my heart still isn’t beating in rhythm.

     In reality, I’ve had a few of these procedures. Waking up after the first one, I was nauseous. After that, others were nothing. Just tired and wanting coffee when I regained consciousness. So that’s the way I’m heading into this one as ‘A Coffee Lover in Wait.’ Still indifferent but well aware of what to expect and its possible outcomes. 

     Knowing whom, I believe, is the best in his field doing the procedure keeps me at ease. No one better than Doctor S.

     Thank you, Diane B. and Noi! You’ve both gone beyond what friendship can be defined as. You’ve made me laugh and smile throughout this latest journey. You’ve cost me hours of sleep. But that depuration has given me a greater love for humanity. Likely coffee too 🙂 Best friends ever! Hugs and love to you both!

     More after the procedure.

     Until then, find someone to inspire. Show some love to anyone. Make amends to that person you’ve wronged. Call that family member you haven’t spoken to in a while. Or just be nice to that cranky neighbor who has no friends or family. Karma is real people, keep it flowing in your favor. Life is short #WhyNotSmile
