Latest With Agnieszka (Agnes) Rdesinska<\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feeling totally at ease over the past week, I reached out to Agnes once more for advice. I was afraid the feelings of loss that had dissipated were going to be momentary. I was feeling good and had to have reassurance I was headed in the right direction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It all started with my release of Meet: Tara Edwards<\/em><\/strong> and her summation of ‘Friendships’<\/em><\/strong> near the articles end, where I quote her. “I have had some really good friends that I\u2019ve had for a very, very long time and they\u2019re still in my life like yourself. And those friendships I cherish<\/em><\/strong> very deeply.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Being captured in the same description with the word ‘cherish’ <\/em><\/strong>had me feeling good for a change. Moments later a comment appeared beneath the article and things got even brighter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It reads, “Hey Rick \u2013 I think I met you during our college years at a Michigan collegiate newspaper event. Hope you are well.” Even without seeing its author, I knew it was Lisa. I had thought about her from time to time over the last four decades, wondering where she was, how her life turned out and what she was up to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lisa and I had met at an Awards Ceremony in Grand Rapids, Michigan for the States Collegiate Newspapers. We had talked a few times afterwards and later I was invited to her place for a gathering. Afterwards, we simply lost track of one another as our lives had taken us in different directions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Synchronicity<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

I talked to Agnes a couple of days later. I tried to figure out what the hell was going on in my life. She offered Synchronicity as a possible explanation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had heard of the coincidences Agnes was speaking of but had never taken much heed into the stories. Timing, sheer chance, luck call it what you will, I\u2019ve always had my doubts about predestined events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But this felt different. I was actually excited hearing from Lisa. We didn’t know one another that well and still don’t. However, discovering someone remembered me all these years later had me ecstatic. Especially at such a time in my life when I had been feeling down over other events. So I started questioning Agnes about the validity of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Crazy,” I began to the therapist. “Is this part of healing too, huh? One person lost can break you into a million pieces and one person you were so fond of nearly 40 years ago, pops back in your life and brightens your day. Life choices if I hadn\u2019t started writing again, what are the odds that would\u2019ve happened?”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She begins to tell me there is no medical terminology for it and sends me Carl Jung’s take. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then goes on, “They say that if you start experiencing synchronicities after a dark period, it means you’re on a right path. That your awareness is shifting and you’re growing as a person. Others believe that you’re jumping on a higher level of consciousness where other beings (like angels or spirits) start to intervene and help you on your path by giving you signs. Either way – it’s a good sign. Your efforts to understand, heal and grow are not for nothing. <\/em><\/strong>Some would say they’ve been “noticed.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The last few days I haven\u2019t had any painful memories of missing Casey either. Is it really possible that Lisa was the only one that could be a factor in my healing without me even knowing it,” I asked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her reply was a question in and of itself. “Everything is possible, does it feel true,” she asked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Does it feel true?” I responded, “I\u2019d have to say yes\u2026there\u2019s no lingering thoughts. I\u2019ve been happy excited hearing from her\u2026it\u2019s not like the writing to take my mind off of it\u2026it\u2019s not like forcing a new feeling in, because the feeling had always been there. I\u2019m not in love with her\u2026it\u2019s the feeling you get when you\u2019re anxious to get to know someone\u2026bubbly, happy, giggles every message…that’s what it feels like\u2026it feels real.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“That’s beautiful. If it feels this way then I believe it’s real,” Agnes mentions before going on. “I told you the last time that synchronicity is a meaningful coincidence. You feel like it can’t be just chance. It’s things falling together perfectly. Where everything you experienced, even when it was painful, has led you to this beautiful moment. You reconnect with Lisa in the perfect moment of your healing journey. It feels as if that was the final piece and your heart was ready for it. It feels right and it feels real because it is. You’re forgiven and now you’re ready to move on.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Agnes followed up by sending me the underlying quotes as a means for further encouragement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I type this, I can see why Agnes waited to send these for last. Was I really ‘seeing’ what I was saying, or were they just mere words? She must have wondered if I had really seen “Moonlight Graham and Chisholm, Minn.” on the scoreboard like Terence Mann did in Field of Dreams. She is my Ray. I’ve learned to play a game of catch with her, who is my therapist. Through this, I’ve discovered the universe is much larger than myself. And I’ll no longer be the east coast distributor of self-doubt. And will continue to learn to go with the flow and grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Epilogue<\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Must say this past week has been exciting and talking my issues out with Agnes is always enlightening. Somewhere along the way, with her help, I find answers that elude me on my own. I want to thank her as always for finding the time to spend with me. To helping others in similar situations and even worse. To listening without judgment and being there in kindness. Most importantly for being a friend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
