I wasn&#8217;t looking for another chance. I wasn&#8217;t asking for promises. I simply needed honesty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It never came.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those unanswered questions lingered long after the relationship ended. Anyone who has experienced that kind of silence knows that sometimes what isn&#8217;t said can hurt worse than what is said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">The People Who Stay<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the same time, I&#8217;ve also experienced the opposite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve had people show up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I&#8217;ve had friends and loved ones stand beside me through cancer diagnoses, treatments, scans, sleepless nights, fear, and uncertainty. They checked in. They listened. They cared and stayed when it would have been easier to walk away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those acts of kindness mattered more than they&#8217;ll ever know.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you&#8217;re fighting cancer, dealing with chronic illness, or simply struggling to make it through the day, the people who remain in your corner help put your soul back together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/YJFc626Itug?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=es-MX&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong>Noah Kahan: Northern Attitude <\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">What We Owe Each Other<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What I&#8217;ve come to believe is this. While we may not owe each other forever, we do owe each other honesty, compassion, kindness, and gratitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We owe each other the dignity of the truth and acknowledgment when someone has played an important role in our lives. And we owe each other empathy because we never truly know the battles another person is fighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The pain I endured could have made me bitter. Instead, it made my heart bigger.
