Living with cancer has changed the way I measure time, energy, and hope. It has taught me that strength isn\u2019t always loud; sometimes it\u2019s simply getting through another day while still choosing kindness toward the world around me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-4-3 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/dSrzfCKMCHE?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=es-MX&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><strong><em>Diana Ross: Mahogany <\/em><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through my past writings, I\u2019ve talked about compassion, empathy, and seeing people beyond labels. Cancer has made those beliefs even more real. When you sit in waiting rooms, hear difficult words from doctors, or face the quiet uncertainty that comes with illness, you begin to understand that millions of others are walking similar paths. World Cancer Day is about recognizing those shared stories and reminding people that no one should feel alone in their fight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I\u2019m encouraging others to support this day because awareness turns into action. Whether it\u2019s sharing a message, supporting research, or simply checking in on someone who may be struggling silently, small gestures can carry enormous meaning. Cancer isn\u2019t just a medical diagnosis \u2014 it\u2019s emotional, personal, and deeply human. It reshapes families, friendships, and the way we see ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For me, supporting World Cancer Day isn\u2019t about sympathy; it\u2019s about connection and hope. It\u2019s about honoring survivors, remembering those we\u2019ve lost, and standing beside those still fighting. If my journey has taught me anything, it\u2019s that compassion is one of the most powerful forms of strength we have.
