It wasn’t a Christmas Gift<\/em><\/strong>, Really<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7:30 AM EST 10\/27\/23<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

     <\/strong>It’s here. Two-word sentence right off the get go. Kinda glad it’s out of the way as I prepare for the day’s procedure, which actually started last night. But I’ll get into that in a little bit. First there’s some personal ‘house cleaning’ of platitudes and gratitude’s I’d like to address along with humps and bumps in the road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

     I’ll use no more pseudonyms to those I mention and with that said I’d like to thank Casey (last name translated from Sanskrit) Skywalker, Noi (the Spicy Soul) and Diane B (the Churchgoer) for all the hidden, and continued, encouragement which caused me to create this website and blog and to Loren who’s intervened in me walking away from it all more than once. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I do hope that somewhere along the way these ‘cancer chronicles’<\/strong> help someone. I had no idea what treatment entailed, and it’s most assuredly been a learning experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

10:00 PM EST 10\/26\/23:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

     It’s definitely not a ‘Christmas Gift’ <\/strong>but like I said it actually started last night with one of these. No, I did not record the auspicious event. However, I did kid a few of you into believing I might! Still have to do one more prior to leaving for the hospital and that’s where I’ll stop for now. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

12:30 PM EST<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another Day? I think not!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

     I arrived at 12:30, just as ordered. and it was a quick process. Signed my life away on medical forms and was just as quickly given two valiums. Which for the life of me have no idea how anyone can get addicted to. The buzz, or ease of anxiety lasted all a couple minutes. Big whoop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

     Half hour later, I was lying on a bed with my legs propped up in a ‘V’ shape (knees high) with my hind end exposed. Was shaved, lubricated, given a pain killing injection followed by the probe that inserted three markers (seeds) that are not radiated. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

     The markers are used to allow pinpoint accuracy for the radiation to be beamed at, killing the cancerous cells. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

     Now after what ‘Dr Z’ Radiation Oncologist<\/strong>, says was the hardest part, I go back in a couple weeks for simulation run where I’ll watch some sort of video and a trial run of the actual treatment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

     And before any ensuing teasing remarks, yes, there were four nurses present that saw everything. I’m not embraceable. But I will say this, I know it’s not over by any means, I am, however, extremely happy it has begun and with that I’ll end with a portion of Diane’s text message last night and I vow. #IWillSurvive <\/strong>because I’m now officially a #CancerFighter<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
